Noel "Why I don't write poems any more" Black
Thank heavens Noel,
you’re not writing poems any more means I'm not even going to attempt a poem
for you. Fucking marvelous. The two things I always dug about you was
your hair with a cap on it (which look you no longer sport I don't think) and
your smile. This ain't no come on
however so don't get any ideas. Like a friend says, "I was always astounded by how clean he was.
Scrubbed." How's
Colorado? Hope the kid and wife
are well. San Francisco this
morning is foggy and lovely as ever. It was a brilliant night we stayed up with Melissa and wrote of
pork. I still don't have a copy of
those poems. Last time I read them
was while staying at Will's upon my return to San Francisco. That night stays with me, a splendid
reminder of what poetry and life are all about. Why don't you get a hold of some serious cash and start
publishing real nice books like Black Sparrow used to. Some of us are in real need of quality
focused hands-on attention with our unpublished work. There are reputations to be built up and maintained,
dude.
Best,
Patrick James
